First Time Students 

Panther Advisement and Registration Services (PARS)

PARS serves as phase I of your mandatory orientation program.  Students attending the university as freshmen or transferring in no more than 15 hours should attend an orientation session for first time students.  In conjunction with services provided under What Happens at NSO, the following will be available: 

  • Academic expectations
  • Housing tour, presentations, and payments
  • Panthertracks training
  • Health and Counseling presentations

Panther Camp

Panther Camp serves as phase II of your mandatory orientation program. It promotes learning through seminars, workshops, and small 'Panther Talk' discussions.  Camp takes place one week prior to the beginning of classes.  For those who have finalized their housing process, you should be able to move in on the Sunday of Panther Camp to settle in before participation.  Camp activities include but are not limited to:

  • Social and behavioral expectations
  • Support Services
  • Academic policies, procedures, requirements, and programs
  • Campus history and traditions
  • Development of interpersonal and intellectual skills
  • Social activities
