
Co-authors Nelson Bowman, III and Marybeth Gasman have been named as recipients of the 2012 Research Awards in Educational Advancement.
The award, given by the Council for Advancement and Support of Education, honors books and articles as well as doctoral dissertations and master’s theses focusing on communications, alumni relations and marketing and fundraising.
Bowman, PVAMU director of development, teamed with University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education professor Marybeth Gasman to pen “A Guide to Fundraising at Historically Black Colleges and Universities: An All-Campus Approach.” The book is a comprehensive research-based work that delivers the best practices, recommendations and expertise about philanthropy for minority-serving institutions.

Bowman, along with co-author Marybeth Gasman, has been named as a recipient of the 2012 Research Award in Educational Advancement from the Council for Advancement and Support of Education.
