Project EXCITE - A Program to Heighten the Interest of Minority Students in Science, Mathematics, Engineering and Technology (SMET)

The purpose of the proposed Project EXCITE (Enhancing the eXCItement in Technology and Engineering) is to address the General Electric Fund's Faculty For the Future Program. In particular, this project addresses the specific issue of the shortage of minorities in pursuing the science, mathematics, engineering and technology (SMET) areas. Project EXCITE will develop a pre-college program that provides an active and interactive learning environment. This program will serve as a pilot program that will be expanded during the second and later years to a larger number of students from a wide base of disciplines including business, as well as a wider range of grade levels of the schools (including middle and high school levels).
