The Prairie View A&M Lady Panther soccer team dropped a pair or matches to both Louisiana Tech and Centenary College this past week on their North Louisiana swing.
Last Wednesday night, the Lady Panthers dropped a 7-1 decision to Louisiana Tech in Ruston, La.
Louisiana Tech came out on fire and recorded an early 2-0 lead but Prairie View fought back and scored its first goal of the season as Yosselyn Aguilar scored from a direct shot 25 yards away from goal that landed in the back of the net which dropped the Tech lead to 2-1 in the 25th minute. However, that would be the highlight of the half as the Lady Panthers couldn’t stop the fire power of Tech’s offense in the first half which ended 4-1. Tech added three more goals in the second half to seal the win.
On Thursday, Centenary College blanked the Lady Panthers 4-0 in Shreveport.
Holding a 1-0 lead at the beginning of the second half, Centenary scored three goals to close out the scoring column. Abigail Escobar and Aguilar led PVAMU with four shots each while Brenda Castillo followed with two shots.
The Lady Panthers returns to action next week with a trip to Dallas for a match against Mountain View College.
