HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The Prairie View A&M Lady Panther soccer team used two second-half goals to propel them by Alabama A&M 3-2 on Saturday afternoon in Huntsville, Ala.
Yosselyn Aguilar scored the game’s first goal off an assist by Abigail Escobar in the eighth minute of the first half.AAMU tied the contest in the 36th minute for a halftime tie but the Lady Panthers moved back on top 2-1 early in the second stanza as Monica Diaz scored off an assist from Navyd Diaz.
Escobar added an insurance goal late in the game for the Lady Panthers as they moved ahead 3-1.AAMU trimmed its deficit to 3-2 in the 89th minute but it was too little too late as Prairie View captured the win.
Monica Diaz and Escobar led PV with three and two shots, respectively.Jessica Garcia tallied four saves in the goal.
Prairie View was supposed to play Alabama State on its road trip this past weekend but the contest was canceled due to injuries suffered by a number of ASU soccer team members.
