Black Named SWAC Offensive Player Of The Week Once Again

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Prairie View A&M quarterback K.J. Black earned the Southwestern Athletic Conference's Offensive Player of the Week honor for the second consecutive week after Prairie View A&M's 24-10 win over Alabama State on Saturday.
Black completed 22 of 33 passes for 341 yards and one touchdown and also had a rushing touchdown in the Panthers' 24-10 win at Alabama State. The junior from Louisville, Ky. also completed a 77-yard pass in the third quarter and led a balanced offensive attack as eight different Panthers caught passes.In three games this season, Black has completed 72.6 percent of his passes (53-of-73) and thrown for 626 yards with four touchdown passes and four rushing touchdowns.He also leads the SWAC in scoring with an average of 8.7 points per game.
This marks the third honor for Black this season as he was named the SWAC's Newcomer of the Week for his performance against New Mexico State on Sept. 12 and Offensive Player of the Week after helping Prairie View A&M defeat Grambling State on Oct. 3.
