General Description

Prairie View A&M University invites applications for the position of Assistant Dean in the Roy G. Perry College of Engineering. This position is responsible for interacting and responding to alumni, corporate representatives, campus personnel and students; assisting the Associate Dean with departmental operations; supervising and coordinating various college activities; serving as a resource and referral source for student seeking various types of assistance; serving on University councils, committees, work groups and other bodies; working as a liaison for the local community and especially local bodies of higher education; developing and implementing a strategic plan specific to program within the College; collaborating with the Dean and other department entities to oversee the academic program and ensure quality faculty and student support services; provides directions and assistance in preparation of budget requests; and monitoring budget expenditures.

Salary
Commensurate with experience  
Education
Doctorate degree in Engineering, Engineering Education, Engineering Management or related field.
Experience

A minimum of three (3) years of experience in Higher Education Administration is required.

Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills
The successful candidate must have excellent supervisory, organizations and training skills; excellent written, verbal and presentation skills; ability to work as a part of a team, people from a variety of culturally diverse backgrounds and skills in development, implementation and the execution of programs.
