Excellent general source for beginning and advanced students and a good starting point for subject searching of this discipline.

Encyclopedia of Applied Developmental Science. Sage, 2005 (REF HQ767.84 .E52 2005)
Provides an excellent overview of this redefined field with a list of entries at the beginning to help the reader know what the work contains. The Reader’s Guide lists entries by 30 broad topic areas, including child development, culture and diversity, personality and development, and social issues, making it easy for users to locate relevant information.

Encyclopedia of Human Behavior. Academic Press. (REF BF31 .E5 1994)
This source presents 250 signed articles focusing primarily on physiological, abnormal and clinical psychology and cognition. Each article provides a glossary, bibliography and cross-references. Indexed by author, title and subject.

Encyclopedia of Psychology. Oxford. (REF BF31 .E52 2000)
Spend some time examining the features of this encyclopedia, and you'll find out why it has been heralded for scholarship and comprehensive coverage of this field. Especially interesting is the Synoptic Outline of Contents in volume 8, which serves as a classified reference, listing conceptual categories of psychology and relationships within each broad area. Under the category "Biographies" is the list of 400 names of the psychologists included in the set.

Beside the main section of entries in alphabetical order, this book provides indexes of names, interests and institutions as well as an index of key terms.

CINAHL is the authoritative resource for nursing and allied health professionals, students, educators and researchers with >1MM records (1892-date) indexing >2,737 journals covering nursing and allied health. CINAHL includes English-language nursing journals and publications on nursing, biomedicine, health sciences librarianship, alternative/complementary medicine, consumer health and 17 allied health disciplines. 

EJS E-Journals provides article-level access for ~10K E-Journals available through EBSCO's Electronic Journal Service (EJS) with links directly to publishers' content. 

Health Source: Nursing/Academic Edition contains ~550 scholarly, full text nursing, allied health and medical journals (~450 of them peer-reviewed, dating back to 1975); consumer health magazines; newsletters; pamphlets; newspaper articles; topical overviews; reference books; and abstracts and indexing for ~850 more journals.  The majority of full text titles are available in native (searchable) PDF. 

MEDLINE, also available as PubMed <http://pubmed.gov>, is the U.S. National Library of Medicine's premier bibliographic database with >15MM references to >5K worldwide journals in 37 languages (covering 1950-date) providing authoritative medical information on medicine, dentistry, nursing, veterinary medicine, healthcare administration, the health care system, and the pre-clinical sciences.   MEDLINE uses MeSH (Medical Subject Headings) indexing with tree, tree hierarchy, subheadings and explosion capabilities. 

PsychARTICLES (1894 to date) is a definitive source of full-text, peer-reviewed scholarly and scientific articles in psychology with >100K full-text articles from 59 journals including 48 journals published by the American Psychological Association (APA) and allied organizations. 

PsycCRITIQUES, also produced by the APA, is an electronic database of book reviews (>36K reviews, 1956-date) featuring full text reviews of current scholarly and professional books in psychology, critiques of popular films, and trade books from a psychological perspective. PsycCRITIQUES is indexed with controlled vocabulary from APA's Thesaurus of Psychological Index Terms®

Information on >700 topics covering diseases, conditions and wellness, as well as extensive information about drugs, an illustrated medical encyclopedia, interactive patient tutorials, and latest health news.
