The University Department of Public Safety operates 24 hours daily and provides police, fire, civil defense, and other emergency services to the university. Officers enforce university regulations, county and municipal ordinances, and state and federal laws.

The Crime Prevention Unit provide programs such as personal security, property protection, and sexual assault awareness to residence hall and to general audiences throughout the semester.

Emergency call boxes are located throughout campus providing direct contact with the police dispatcher.
