Established in 1977, Prairie View A&M University’s College of Business offers two master’s
degree programs - the Master of Business Administration and the Master of Science in
Accounting. Graduate courses are conveniently scheduled on weekday evenings, Saturdays
an online to meet the needs of working professionals.
Irrespective of a student’s background, industry or profession, an MBA degree can greatly
benefit individuals in business and management positions. The MBA degree program focuses
on providing graduates with the knowledge and skills necessary to succeed in all types of
business enterprises. The curriculum integrates various business disciplines to provide the
theory and practical application needed to assume a leadership role as a manager or an
entrepreneur.
The MSA degree focuses on providing advanced training in accounting to prepare
professionals for careers in public, private and governmental accounting. The curriculum
is designed to provide both accounting and non-accounting majors with a course of study
to meet their needs. The primary objective of the MSA program is to prepare graduates
to meet the prerequisites for the Uniform Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Examination.
Students who may also benefit from the MSA degree include those who plan to enter the
fields of corporate accounting or consulting, plan to pursue the Certified Management
Accountant (CMA) license or teach accounting.
The PVAMU College of Business is fully accredited by the Association to Advance
Collegiate Schools of Business (AACS B International), the premier accrediting agency for
bachelor’s and master’s degree programs in business administration.
