DISTANCE LIBRARY SERVICES
| Mission Statement |
In keeping with the standards outlined by the American Library Association the Distance Library Services Department of the John B. Coleman Library acknowledges the principle of access entitlement. All students, regardless of location, be it off campus, on campus or in the absence of a physical campus are entitled to library services and resources to meet information and research needs. As such the Distance Library Services Department is committed to supporting students and faculty affiliated with Prairie View A&M University satellite campuses and online learning programs by providing exceptional information resources and services comparable to those provided by the main campus library and library staff. |
| Vision Statement |
The Distance Library Services Department seeks to creatively identify and use a broad range of new and existing electronic resources and media to encourage communication, research and scholarly activity and to establish a virtual social presence that removes barriers created by geographic distance and constraints. |
