Julius Parker, Jr. Transfer Scholarship

The Julius Parker, Jr. Transfer Scholarship is designed to recognize outstanding students who will be transferring to Prairie View A&M University.   The scholarships are being automatically offered to qualifying students who meet transfer hour and GPA criteria. The Julius Parker, Jr. Transfer Scholarships are renewable for up to four (4) consecutive semesters (scholarship unavailable during summer semesters)

Application for admission is the only application required. Funds are limited and awards are offered on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Scholarship recipients will receive a notification letter and a participation agreement.  To accept an offered scholarship, the participation agreement must be returned to the University within two weeks of the offer. 

The annual awards range from $1,000.00 to $4,000.00.

Selection criteria for the Julius Parker, Jr. Transfer Scholarship are:

1. Accepted to PVAMU
2. Complete a Free Application for Free Application for Student Financial Aid (FAFSA).  International students must complete the Texas Application for Student Financial Aid (TASFA).
3. Previous attendance at an accredited community college and/or university
4. At least 24 transferable credit hours
5. Students that have earned more than 90 transferable hours are ineligible
6. Students that already have PVAMU credit hours are also ineligible

Scholarships may be renewed for your second year at PVAMU. To renew the scholarship, students must:

1. Have received the scholarship the previous year.
2. Maintain full-time academic status (at least 12 hours per semester), otherwise the scholarship is automatically forfeited.  Appeals for the scholarship must be made to the scholarship committee.  All decisions made by the committee are final.
3. Maintain the PVAMU GPA listed on the chart below:
