The Texas Juvenile Crime Prevention Center in the College of Juvenile Justice and Psychology will host The Gavel Series: Community Based Legal Education in conjunction with the Waller County District Attorney’s Office and the Justice of the Peace Precinct 3.

The series will feature free legal education classes taught by volunteer lawyers and judges. The public is invited to attend the classes, which teach participants about the law in a “user friendly” manner.
The classes will feature discussions on many topics including bankruptcy, credit and debt collection, avoiding disaster rip-offs, immigration, family law, juvenile law, small claims court, landlord/tenant law, wills, debt collection, lemon laws, social security, consumer scams and credit problems.
Classes will be held at 9:00 a.m. to noon on February 2nd, May 4th, August 3rd and November 2nd in the Don K. Clark building at PVAMU. Registration is required and it opens at 8:00 a.m. each class day.
