Dear Fellow Alum:

The time is almost here—Homecoming 2009!  We are eager to see you and  look forward to your participation in a full range of activities that are planned for the week of October 12th.  There will be an opportunity for you to reunite  with  classmates and friends,  attend alumni class meetings,  visit with faculty, staff and students,  tour our beautiful campus and discover some of the exciting changes that are taking place, witness the inauguration  of the 36th President of the National Alumni Association,    congratulate and celebrate with our  50th year   graduates of the university,  attend alumni luncheons and banquets,  participate in golf tournaments,  view  the colorful and  festive parade ,  register for prizes,  browse the wares of numerous displays and booths, tailgate and tell tall stories about the days that you were a student at PVAMU. And, of course, you will want to plan on being here for the highlight of the weekend—the football classic on Saturday October 17th.

On another note, you will be pleased to know that we have a large group of entering students for the academic year 2009-2010.  This  pool of new students is an  impressive group with the tough mindedness to tackle the rigors of a demanding educational program. The caliber of our students and the rich diversity of experiences they bring with them help shape a strong environment for teaching and learning. We welcome our new and returning students.  We certainly wish all of them much luck and success throughout their college career.

As always, we want to take a moment to thank  our alumni, wherever you may be and  whatever your contributions may be to our country and the world,   for your  loyal support  and for your continued efforts  to strengthen the work that we do at Prairie View A&M University.

Sincerely,

Hortense Kilpatrick, Ph.D.
