Scholarship Criteria
A. G. Hillard Scholarship Fund
  • Freshmen
  • 3.0 minimum GPA
Accenture Endowed Scholarship
  • Full-time Sophomores or Juniors
  • Engineering major with 3.0 minimum GPA or Business major with 3.2 minimum GPA
  • Involvement in extracurricular activities and participation in an Co-op/Intern placement
  • Must write an essay that discuss leadership experience
Anderson Bonner Endowment
  • Freshmen (and community college transfer from the White Rock area of Dallas County, Richardson ISD, Carrollton, Addison, Garland or Plano)
Barbara Jean Hoffman Foundation Scholarship
  • Full-time
  • Nursing or Political Science majors
  • 2.8 cumulative GPA
  • Need based
Benjamin Van Dalia Wright Brown Scholarship
  • Juniors or Seniors (must be a member of Second Baptist Church in San Antonio, TX)
Bethlehem United Methodist
  • Must be pursuing a Bachelor's degree.
  • 2.5 semester GPA (must be a member of BUMC in Hempstead, TX)
Bobby L. Baldwin Scholarship
  • Music or Business majors
  • 3.0 minimum GPA
  • Must be from Dallas, TX (and the first child to attend college)
Brackenridge Scholarship
  • Need based (from San Antonio or Bexar County, TX)
Brentwood Baptist Church Scholarship
  • No Criteria

C. J. Davidson Scholarship
  • Awarded to students in the following categories singing cadets: College Station, TX, 4-H Youth Development and worthy students at PVAMU
Collins/Brown Scholarship
  • Freshmen
  • 3.0 minimum GPA
  • 15 semester hours each Fall and Spring semester
Degreed Up Scholarship
  • Must complete application available here
  • Must write or type and print the following sentence 25 times, "I will not stop and I will not quit until I am degreed up!
Designated Tuition Set Aside
  • Undergraduate or Graduate students
  • Need based
Detroit Edison Scholarship Fund
  • Engineering or Computer Science major
Distinguished Achievement Scholarship
  • Recent High School graduates (entering college for the first time)
  • 3.0 minimum GPA
  • SAT minimum 1500 / ACT minimum 21 and must complete verbal, writing and essay sections
Dolfrank Scholarship Award
  • U.S. Citizen, Undergraduates
  • Any major
  • 3.2 minimum GPA
  • Submit 1 letter of recommendation and must write essay entitled: "How Will the Dolfrank Scholarship Benefit Me?" (if selected must send a thank you letter)
DOW-PVAMU Alumni Scholarship
  • Sophomores, Juniors or Seniors
  • Engineering major
  • 3.0 cumulative GPA
Doxie Darling Haws Mason Scholarship
  • Sophomores, Juniors or Seniors
  • 2.5 cumulative GPA
  • Need based
Dr. Charley Wootan Grant
  • U.S. Citizens or permanent U.S. Residents (of Puerto Rico, Guam, the U.S. Virgin Islands or any of the U.S. territories and commonwealths)
  • High School Seniors or Graduates (including GED recipients) who plan to enroll or are students who are already enrolled at least half-time
  • Need based (eligible to receive Title IV funding)

First Class Alumni Endowed Scholarship
  • Full-time

  • Submit 3 letters of recommendation and have completed the financial aid application process
  • Must submit an Official Transcript and short biography highlighting accomplishments and career aspirations, and personal views relative to attending PVAMU
Flossie M. Byrd Scholarship
  • Juniors
  • Agriculture, Human Sciences, Sociology or Social Work majors.
  • Must have completed all THEA (TASP) requirements
  • 3.0 minumum GPA (no grade below a C)
  • Show evidence of being a student leader or an active participant in community service (must have no record or inappropriate conduct resulting in disciplinary action)
Ford EEOC Endowment Scholarship
  • 3.0 cumulative GPA
  • Students who have immediately family members who are employed by Ford EEOC (a letter of verification of employment is required of each family member employed by FORD EEOC)
General Scholarship Fund
  • Full-time
  • Good academic standing
George Foundation
  • 2.7 minimum GPA
  • Awarded to students that resides in Fort Bend County
George Meador Scholarship
  • Full-time Undergraduate

PVAMU-Houston Alumni Scholarship
  • 2.5 minimum GPA

Texas Armed Services Scholarship Program
  • Freshmen (current member and in good standing of the ROTC)
  • Meet all pre-screening requirements of the Texas Army or Air Force National Guard. Enter into a written agreement with the Coordinating Board agreeing to complete 4 years ROTC training, graduate no later than 5 years after the date of registration and provide the Coordinating Board with verification of a 4 year commitment to the Texas Army or Air Force and a contract to serve as a mission officer in any branch in the armed service
Texas Be-On-Time Loan
  • Must be a Texas resident
  • Full-time Undergraduate
  • Must be entitled to pay resident tuition rates as a dependent child of a member of the U.S. Armed Forces
  • Must be a High School graduate of the class of 2003 or later (must be a school operated by the U.S. Department of Defense or under the recommended High School program or have earned an Associate's degree from an eligible institution no earlier than May 1, 2005)
  • Not eligible if a Bachelor's degree has been earned
Texas Quality Enhancement Scholarship
  • Undergraduate students
  • Education majors (must pursue a teaching certificate and be willing to teach in a "high need" area; e.g., school in which 50% or more of the enrolled students are eligible for reduce lunch)

  • Must have 24 transferable credit hours for consideration. (students that have earned more than 90 hours transferable hours are ineligible)
United Ministers Scholarship
  • Must be a Texas resident
  • Undergraduate (must have completed one academic year at PVAMU)
  • 2.5 cumulative GPA (Good academic standing)
  • 12 current semester hours
  • No disciplinary record on file
  • Does not allow a refund
