John B. Coleman Library Salutes National Library Week  April 11 to 17, 2010 with Week-long Book Amnesty

Waive Book Fines - Amnesty Week: the week of Saturday to Sunday, April  11-17, 2010. Overdue BOOK fines ONLY. If the book is OVERDUE and the patron is not blocked the fines will be waived. THIS DOES NOT INCLUDE LOST BOOKS. THE OVERDUE BOOK MUST BE RETURNED IN PERSON TO THE CIRCULATION DESK AT THE JOHN B. COLEMAN LIBRARY IN ORDER FOR THE FINES TO BE WAIVED. (One Week Only!!!) – Students, Faculty, Staff & also Library Card Holders.

• Tuesday, April 13, 2010: Campus-wide Library’s Worker’s Day Program- Guest Speaker- Anika Sala, Manger of the Houston, Texas Shrine of the Black Madonna Cultural Center and Bookstore at 2:00 p.m. Room 108. Reception following program.

• Week-long Libraries and Librarians History books on display at the Circulation Department for check out
Week-long Look at the Texas Library Association and the American Library Association magazines in the glass and free-standing display cases

• Week-long Patron Satisfaction Survey Help us Help you- Please fill-out the Patron Satisfaction Survey. - Click Here

• Week-long Free Library Giveaways at Circulation Department when you check out a book. Sunday, April 11 to Saturday, April 17, 2010 (One giveaway per-person)

• How about those Government Documents! Have a look at our ever-growing collection and gather information on Government Documents in the Periodicals Department. Give-a-ways: pens and bookmarks. Book Sale to Benefit Haiti Libraries

Book Sale to Benefit Haiti Libraries--Wednesday, April 14th and Thursday, April 15th from 5:00 to 7:00 pm.

The John B. Coleman Library Distance Services and the Northwest Houston Academic Center is celebrating National Library Week with a Book/Video/DVD Sale to benefit the Haiti Libraries Relief Fund.

Prairie View A&M University and the 4th Floor Art Gallery are very excited about hosting the work of Houston based artist Maya Imani Watson and her ambitious exhibition entitled Evidence of Faith. With an enthusiastic love for God and Christ, in this art exhibition the artist has created a series of paintings that are inspired by the understanding that faith is the evidence of things not seen
