In order to simplify the application process, gather required documents and other information ahead of time. The following will also help you with the process:

According to Texas Education Code section 51.9095, an individual may not receive a loan grant, scholarship, or other financial assistance funded by state revenue, including federal funds or gifts and grants accepted by this state, or receive a student loan guaranteed by this state or the Texas Guaranteed Student Loan Corporation, unless the individual files a statement of the student's selective service status with the institution or other entity granting or guaranteeing the financial assistance as required by this section.
Please note, according to federal law, international students (foreign males) between the ages of 18 and 25 living in the United States are required to register with selective service. International students without Social Security Numbers must go to your local post office and complete the Selective Service card and mail it to the Selective Service Office.
Hence, all students are required to complete the Statement of Student Compliance with Selective Service.
Eligibility/Special Circumstances
What if my financial situation has changed since I filed my FAFSA?
Federal regulations allow a financial aid administrator to consider unusual circumstances that may affect a student’s financial aid award (s). Examples of special circumstances include: divorce, death, change or loss of employment, or disability after the Free Application for Federal Student Aid is processed.
In order to be considered for a special circumstance, please complete the Special Circumstances Form. You may obtain the form via our online Forms Library at http://pvamu.edu/pages/1950.asp.
Complete the Prairie View A&M University Request For Summer Aid application which is online at the www.pvamu.edu website, using the Financial Aid link and accessing Forms Library. The application must be completed, signed and submitted to the Student Financial Aid Office.
