Summer Training & Enrichment Program New Hire Instructions

Please follow the instructions below if you do not have a UIN and you have never worked on campus.

  1. Complete the PV S.T.E.P. Orientation and Quiz. Once completed, print out the Certificate of Completion (with your name).
  2. Complete and print out the PV S.T.E.P. New Hire Packet (all forms must be typed).
  3. Students must bring the following items to SEO to receive a UIN and complete the five (5) State Mandated Trainings. Students without an assigned UIN will not be able to complete the state mandated trainings. 
    1. Employee Personal Data Sheet
    2. Completed I-9 Employment Eligibility Form
    3. 2 Forms of original identification ***According to page 9 of the I-9 Form***
    4. Copy of EWR (created and provided by the supervisor)
  4. Student UIN will be available 24 hours after the above documentation has been provided to the Student Employment Office.
  5. Use your UIN to complete the five (5) online State Mandated Trainings. Print out the PDF version of the Training Transcript showing your name and UIN.
  6. Complete the remainder of the PV S.T.E.P. New Hire Packet and submit it to your Supervisor for review and certification.
  7. The hiring supervisor and creator of the EWR are responsible for ensuring that the PV S.T.E.P. Job Offer Letter (signed by supervisor and student) is attached to the EWR, in order to process and hire the student worker.
  8. The identified, prospective summer intern will need to complete the remaining documents in the PV S.T.E.P. New Hire Packet. The following documents should be completed by the student and supervisor:
    1. PV S.T.E.P. New Hire Cover Sheet
    2. Federal W-4 Tax Withholding Form
    3. Disabled Veterans Status Form
    4. Confidential Release Form
    5. PV S.T.E.P. Statement of Student Responsibilities
    6. PV S.T.E.P. Workplace Learning – Drug & Alcohol Abuse
    7. PV S.T.E.P. Student Work Schedule
    8. Fall 2013 Detailed Class Schedule (required)
    9. Summer 2013 Detailed Class Schedule (if attending)
    10. Academic Transcript
    11. Graduate School Application (if applicable)
    12. Training Transcript (with student’s name and UIN)
    13. PV S.T.E.P. Orientation Quiz Results Page
  9. Please check with your supervisor to confirm that your EWR has completed routing. 

Summer Training & Enrichment Program Rehire Instructions 

These instructions are for students who have been previously processed for on-campus employment through the Student Employment Office. You should already have a UIN.

  1.  Complete the PV S.T.E.P. Orientation and Quiz. Once completed, print out the Certificate of Completion (with your name).
  2. Complete and print out the PV S.T.E.P. Rehire Packet (all forms must be typed).
  3. The hiring supervisor and creator of the EWR are responsible for ensuring that the PV S.T.E.P. Job Offer Letter (signed by supervisor and student) is attached to the EWR, in order to process and hire the student worker.
  4. The identified, prospective summer intern will need to complete the remaining documents in the PV S.T.E.P. Rehire Packet. The following documents should be completed by the student and supervisor:
