LIBRARY KEY POLICY
INFORMATION

The Library houses 24 individual Study carrels for use by faculty/staff, doctoral, graduate and undergraduate students. Some of these carrels are reserved for senior undergraduate students doing research or studying for a major graduate level entrance exam. All faculty/Staff or students must show a current Prairie View A&M University I.D. to obtain a study carrel.

The following rules and regulations of the John B. Coleman Library also apply to all keys in the building:

  • No food, beverages or smoking is allowed in the building.
  • Library materials to be used in the carrel must be properly checked out at the Circulation Desk.
  • Reference Materials may not be kept in the carrels.
  • The Library is not responsible for personal items left in the study carrels.
ASSIGNMENT OF STUDY CARRELS
The study carrels are assigned on a first come first served basis at the beginning of each Fall, Spring or Summer session.
FEES
 A $10.00 per semester fee will be required upon assignment of a study carrel key. The fee is non-refundable and if the key is not returned/renewed at the end of each semester/session.  A $30.00 re-keying fee or replacement fee will be charged for the replacement of any list library key at the Circulation Desk.
