Dr. Mark Tschaepe

Dr. Tschaepe received his PhD in Philosophy from Southern Illinois University – Carbondale in 2008. He has published on a range of topics in philosophy, including the philosophy of science, the philosophy of explanation, postmodernism, and American philosophy. His current work consists of an historical analysis of Kelly Miller’s philosophy of science, which is part of a larger project pertaining to underrepresented voices and the sciences. Dr. Tschaepe also continues to work on critical analyses of the work of John Dewey, especially with regard to his philosophy of science and the concept of love within his ethics.

 Dr. Tschaepe began teaching at Prairie View in January of 2012. He is the faculty representative for the Philosophy & Ethics Club on campus.
