PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas (June 13, 2024) – Prairie View A&M University’s Dean of the Johnson-Phillip All-Faiths Chapel, Charles H. Lewter IV, was recently inducted into the Martin Luther King Jr. College of Ministers and Laity, which is sponsored by the Martin Luther King Jr. International Chapel at Morehouse College, in Atlanta, Georgia. The Class of 2024 inductees is the largest group to be inducted.
Since 1985, the Chapel’s signature program has attracted and honored individuals at different points of their careers with various levels of influence and commitment to sacrificial service, scholar, morality, faith, leadership, and other attributes in tribute to Dr. King.
Members of the College of Ministers & Laity are guided by ethical traditions and principles that aligned and guided Dr. King’s life and work.
“I am humbled that I was selected to be inducted into this prestigious board of preachers,” Lewter said.
Nominations for induction into the Martin Luther King Jr. College of Ministers and Laity are submitted to the Office of the Dean of the Chapel by former inductees into the boards and collegium of the College, distinguished citizens at large, and faculty, staff, and alumni of Morehouse College.
“This was one of many pinnacles in my ministry that shows faithfulness at work,” Lewter IV said about the experience of traveling to Morehouse.
