PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas (March 24, 2025) – The Prairie View A&M Panthers Bowling team claimed victory at the SWAC Bowling Championships on March 23, 2025, at the International Training and Research Center (ITRC) in Arlington, Texas. Facing off against the Southern University Jaguars, the Panthers secured a 4-2 win in a best-of-seven Baker format match, where teams take turns bowling frames to complete a single game.

Seeded fifth in the tournament, the Panthers showed resilience and skill throughout the competition. After dropping the first game to Southern, the team rebounded by winning the next three. Southern took the fifth game, keeping their championship hopes alive, but PVAMU closed out the match with a decisive victory in the sixth game.

Several players earned individual honors for their performances. Amani Moore and Jayda Gordon were named to the SWAC All-Tournament Team, while Jalyne Myers was recognized as the tournamentā€™s Most Valuable Player (MVP) for her standout contributions.

The championship marks Prairie View A&Mā€™s seventh conference title and is the first under head coach Tiffany Clark in her debut season. Reflecting on the win, Clark shared, ā€œEmotions were everywhere. Before the championships, I told the team that if they played together, trusted each other, and stayed focused, they could win. They did just that. The girls rallied together, stayed patient, knocked down the pins, and it all came together in our favor.ā€

The championship squadā€”Moore, Gordon, Myers, Caroline Lewis, Skylar Alexander, Miranda Fuentes, and Chandler Townsendā€”now awaits a potential invitation to the NCAA Regional Championships. The NCAA will announce the tournament field on Wednesday, March 26, at 3 p.m.
