Ag Discovery, a free summer outreach program, concluded on Friday, June 14, with a ceremony where students were honored and recognized for their participation in the two-week program. The ceremony, attended by family, friends, faculty, and staff, was organized and led by the students, showcasing their leadership and organizational skills.

The event commenced with a warm welcome and the introduction of the Masters of Ceremony, followed by remarks from sponsor Xanthe Shirley. The students then highlighted their experiences and key takeaways in presentations.

New Program Director TeneInger Abrom-Johnson and former program director Jacklyn Sanders, Ph.D., gave reflections and presented awards to the students. “This group of students were very inquisitive and had a willingness to learn,” Abrom-Johnson stated. Additionally, both directors acknowledged the program sponsors, presenters, and camp counselors for their invaluable support throughout the program.

The closing ceremony marked the end of a successful summer program and served as a platform for students to showcase their growth and newfound knowledge.

This year, 18 students participated in the program where they gained hands-on experience through labs, workshops, field trips, and teambuilding activities.
