Prairie View, Texas (December 13, 2024) – The Division of Research & Innovation (R&I) at Prairie View A&M University hosted its Fall 2024 Cording Ceremony on Thursday, Dec. 12, bringing together student researchers and their faculty mentors to celebrate the achievements of graduating participants in the Faculty-Research and Innovation Success and Excellence (Faculty-RISE) program.

The Faculty-RISE program, led by Vice President for Research and Innovation Magesh Rajan, Ph.D., aims to strengthen the university’s research and innovation clusters. The program provides undergraduate and graduate students with opportunities to participate in groundbreaking research under the guidance of faculty mentors.

The ceremony recognized outstanding RISE undergraduate student researchers, including Dalicia Drain, mentored by Dr. Anne Lippert; Reagan Hagewood, mentored by Dr. Quincy Jones; Jada Henry, mentored by Dr. Lori Banks; and Kiano Kelly, mentored by Dr. Kiesha Pierre.

 

The event served as a celebration of academic excellence, research innovation, and the enduring mentorship that fuels discovery and growth. It highlighted the transformative power of boundless research, where curiosity meets opportunity, and ideas evolve into impactful solutions. The ceremony underscored the University’s unwavering commitment to nurturing a new generation of scholars and innovators, equipping them with the skills and vision to tackle global challenges.
